On Sunday I was invited to capture Avant; a brush lettering workshop located Backstage at the Meyer in Green Bay. The workshop was styled and planned by the lovely duo from Milwaukee, Emily & Halee of Mint & Lovely; a boutique design studio that specializes in invitation suites & stationery for weddings (but who can also put together and style a dang good event!). The workshop was led by the talented Victoria Danielle, whose brush lettering is gorgeous beyond words.
As guests arrived, they were given adorable keepsake totes, which included locally crafted goodies from several small business in the area. After they got their tote, and grabbed a delicious drink from The Coffee Bar, the attendees settled in for a 2.5 hour long class. Victoria led you through the basics of modern brush lettering – from how to properly hold your brush, to different techniques used to master the art. At the end, each guest was invited to put their newly learned talent to use, by creating their own art on a stretch canvas.
